Job Description
We are seeking a passionate dynamic qualified Essential English Teacher for a full time continuing position starting ASAP!
We are assisting a Flexible Learning School that is located in a suburb on the South-side of Brisbane in Shailer Park.
This school offers an alternate learning environment for Year 11/12 students who have become or at risk of becoming disengaged from mainstream schooling. Class sizes are lovely and small and there is a strong focus on building relationships and providing a holistic learning environment that meets the needs of each student.
The timetable is very manageable and you would be required to teach Essential English and also Social and Community Studies. Monday-Tuesday is timetabled to teach Class A. Thursday-Friday will be repeated for Class B. Every Wednesday is a non-contact day for planning and meetings.
The Role and Teaching Requirements:
You will be able to teacher either:
- Year 11/12 Essential English and Social and Community Studies
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Formal teaching qualifications with current Queensland Teaching Registration and experience teaching the subject area/s required;
- High level of honesty and integrity;
- Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to build positive respectful relationships with others and with people at all levels;
- Experienced classroom management and ability to provide a safe and supportive classroom environment where each individual feels respected;
- A versatile and flexible teacher who can prepare and deliver effective learning programs and is understanding of the different styles of learning in their classroom;
- High level time management skills and attention to detail
In addition to this you will be an adaptable positive and proactive person whocan flourish in a small community environment.
