Responsibilities The Highway Civil Engineer will be responsible for the planning and designing of road and transportation infrastructure ensuring safety efficiency and environmental considerations. The primary project focus will be on federal highways high-speed multi-lane systems and bridges for DOT clients. These responsibilities include:
- Work with clients to understand their vision and scope of the project.
- Analyze survey data traffic patterns and other relevant data to optimize road design and ensure functionality and safety.
- Develop detailed plans for new roads highways and related infrastructure.
- Leverage engineering design software to draft plans drawings and models.
- Involved in the improvement of existing road infrastructure ensuring its continued safety and efficiency.
- Ensure that engineering designs comply with relevant DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Draft technical writing pieces such as Requests for Proposals report writing project specifications and memorandums.
- Provide construction administration services during the construction phase of the project.
