Job Overview/Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Veterinarian Medical Director to lead a veterinary medical team at one of our partnered clinical practices. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate experienced veterinarian with strong leadership qualities and a passion for delivering excellent medical care and team mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and medical oversight to the veterinary team and clinic staff
Ensure high-quality care for animal patients including diagnosis treatment and preventative care
Promote a positive team environment through mentoring development and performance management
Drive hospital policies protocols and best practices in compliance with veterinary regulations
Participate in hiring and training new team members as needed
Represent the practice in the community and among stakeholders
Collaborate with operational leadership to support business goals and growth
Requirements:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited university
Active and unrestricted veterinary license in the state of employment
Strong clinical and surgical competency
5 years of veterinary clinical experience preferred
Previous leadership or management experience in a veterinary setting is a plus
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Current DEA license (preferred not required)
USDA Accreditation (preferred not required)
