The Opportunity: and nbsp;
- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Intermediate Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in driving the successful execution of various projects with a particular focus on initiatives within the transit sector public agencies and bus operations.
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of project management methodologies exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments inherent in public sector projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of assigned projects from initiation and planning to execution monitoring control and closure ensuring projects are delivered on time within scope and within budget.
- Develop comprehensive project plans including scope definition objectives deliverables timelines resource allocation and risk management strategies.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders including internal teams external vendors government agencies and community representatives.
- Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues developing mitigation strategies and escalating concerns as necessary.
- Monitor project progress track key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular status reports for management and stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies procedures and best practices as well as relevant public sector regulations and guidelines.
- Support the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) Statements of Work (SOWs) and other procurement-related documents.
- Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- PMP Certification is required.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in project management with a significant portion of that experience gained within a Transit Agency.
- Demonstrable experience managing projects within the Public Sector is essential.
- Proven understanding and experience with Bus Operations including but not limited to fleet management scheduling maintenance and operational efficiencies.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. Agile Waterfall) and tools (e.g. Microsoft Project Jira).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills/Experience:
- Experience with specific transit technologies.
- Knowledge of provincial/federal procurement processes.
- Change Management certification (e.g. PROSCI).
Must Haves:
