Job Summary

Job Title: Java Backend Developer with EDI Experience Shipment Vision Project

Location: Omaha NE

Duration:1218 months (Contract)

Mandatory Skills:

Java (8/17) strong core development experience
Spring Framework / Spring Boot
REST APIs design implementation and integration
Solr / Apache Solr search platform experience
Apache Spark data processing
Cassandra distributed NoSQL database
Grafana monitoring and dashboarding.
Basic Linux command-line and environment configuration.
EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) experience with:
- EDI implementations mappings messages and configurations.
- Shipment Vision projectspecific EDI requirements.
- PST (Partner Specific Translation) handling and resolving issues.
12 years total experience in Java backend development with EDI integration.

Highly Desired / Good-to-Have Skills:

Oracle Coherence in-memory data grid
Kubernetes (K8s) container orchestration and deployment
Zookeeper distributed coordination service
Microservices Architecture design and implementation experience.
OpenSearch / Redis data caching and indexing alternatives.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand and translate EDI requirements into scalable backend solutions.
Design develop and enhance backend components using Java Spring Boot and REST APIs.
Implement and maintain EDI integrations mappings and message configurations specific to Shipment Vision.
Handle Partner Specific Translation (PST) configurations and resolve translation-related issues.
Monitor and troubleshoot EDI transaction flows for accuracy timeliness and performance.
Optimize backend services for efficiency reliability and scalability.
Conduct code reviews ensure coding standards and mentor junior developers.
Utilize tools such as Grafana Solr and Spark for monitoring and data analytics.
Work within Kubernetes-hosted environments and participate in CI/CD pipelines if applicable.
Ensure high-quality deliverables through best practices in design testing and performance tuning.

Desired skills:

Deep understanding of Core Java fundamentals.
Strong experience with data and caching platforms like Solr OpenSearch Cassandra Coherence Redis.
Experienced with Kubernetes hosting and microservices deployment.
Excellent analytical troubleshooting and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead development efforts in a collaborative environment.
