SUMMARY: Responsible for receiving and dispatching; routes Transit Van Drivers in a safety sensitive environment. Performs data entry in order to maintain records and generate reports; and performs general clerical support to the Lead driver. This position is classified as a sensitive position and is subject to more stringent drug screening and background checks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Receives telephone and email reservations for transit riders
- Dispatches via radio/telephone communications and routes Transit Drivers in the most effective and timely manner
- Inter-personal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers supervisor and the general public sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
- Performs data entry on a daily basis for generations of reports on the operations and transit revenue.
- Maintain stringent record keeping/document keeping practices.
- Random drug and alcohol testing per the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) of the U.S. Department of Transportation () as published in regulations 49 CFR Part 40 as amended and 655
- Driving for supplies and all other duties assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Visual ability to sufficiently read and write reports correspondence instructions etc; effectively operate equipment including radio equipment cell phones multi-line telephones FAX maps emails manuals etc.
- Hearing ability sufficient to hold a conversation with others in person by telephone and over radio equipment.
- Speaking ability sufficient to communicate effectively with others in person by telephone and over radio equipment.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES and/or REGISTRATIONS:
- Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- Must possess a valid Nebraska Drivers License and be insurable under Tribal insurance
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
- Ability to operate under pressure and speak distinctly. Knowledge of Omaha Language is preferred but not required.
- Must be willing to attend training for job skills enhancement or other training as assigned by supervisor. Training may include GPS training policy training or other training pertinent to this position.
- Maintain regular punctual attendance as stated in the Omaha Tribe Personnel Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Must know geographic area and road/street layout for Omaha Indian Reservation
- Computer software applications and use of computer.
- Math and customer service skills.
