Digital Inclusion Officer
per annum
9 months Fixed Term

This position plays a vital role in the work to change residents lives through digital access (devices connectivity and training) and by being an advocate for digital inclusion internally and externally selling the benefits to residents and partners.

Based in the library service the role will work with other council services VCSO and local businesses to deliver access to digital devices connectivity and appropriate digital skills. This will include embedding of digital device lending; promotion of resources available in libraries and VCSO hubs; skills and training programmes in libraries; growing a borough wide network of digital champions; and support the operation of the Newham Digital Inclusion Alliance.

The candidate will have an excellent understanding of the digital inclusion work carried out by public libraries; have experience of delivering customer-focused activity relating to digital skills; have experience of training frontline teams and volunteers and will be passionate about the role of libraries and digital skills in improving residents lives.
