Job Summary
AECOM is seeking Engineer for civil infrastructure projects to be based on site in Bahrain. The ARE will work under the Resident Engineer and will lead the site team and is responsible for managing the services scope to ensure that the site activities are executed by following the construction documents and specifications and in compliance with the project requirements.
Job Duties
- Reporting to the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) and/ or Resident Engineer (RE)/ Senior Project Manager the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) will assist and support the RE or SRE with a range of site activities and tasks to ensure that the site activities are executed and implemented by following the construction documents and specifications.
- Be familiar with the projects contract documents detailed drawings specifications and health and safety measures together with any associated updates.
- Have sound knowledge and experience in relevant Ministry of Works and Authority construction standards.
- Ensure the contractor/s compliance with the standards and specifications of the contract documents.
- Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
- Liaise and daily follow up with the contractor. This is to ensure the contractor is managing its resources health and safety and equipment needs on the site.
- Prepare daily report to the RE or the ARE. This includes works orders materials delivery maintaining records of the contractor manpower and equipment daily resources and daily inspections programme.
- Follow up and implement any site instructions made by the RE and ARE.
- Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.
- Prepare any site measurements and surveying checks needed by the RE or ARE for pipes alignments and levels.
- Co-ordinate and co-operate with Ministry of Works or similar Authority staff during their site inspections in or without the presence of the RE or ARE as necessary.
- Monitor contractor QA/QC activities and maintain relevant records.
- Assist the ARE and RE in the preparation of any correspondences in compliance with the contract documents.
- Where site problems are found work with the RE or ARE to resolve them promptly.
- Monitor the start-up commissioning and handover of the site works.
- Maintain records of materials tests performed and executed works.
- Audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor submitted plans.
- Reviews Inspectors and Sub-consultants Daily Work Reports.
- Assumes people management responsibilities such as daily timekeeping performance management annual performance review and the development and mentoring of staff.
- Should know FIDIC based contracts or equivalent.
Specific Skills Required
- Having relevant experience in supervising large scale infrastructure projects including roads sewerage system storm water drainage pump stations electrical works telecom ducts etc.
- Have working knowledge in supervising works as applicable

Experience
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in civil engineering/sewerage network projects
- Bahraini Nationals preferred
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- MSC in Engineering
