As a lead Mechanical Technician you will develop world class medical products for image guided surgery including the O-Arm. You will participate in the design development and testing with an emphasis on mechanical product development.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Familiar with Electromechanical and Motion Assembly of large capital equipment systems in a development environment.
Work with development team to design build test and validate performance of prototype systems.
Familiar with mechanical inspection techniques and tools
Familiar with geometric dimensioning tolerancing able to read mechanical drawings
Experience writing assembly work instructions.
Amenable to learning system level User Interface and running tests of capital equipment systems
Operates machines to build prototypes for product development
Perform failure analysis on customer test and production components and sub-assemblies to determine root cause of failure.
Can support testing through writing and executing tests. Experience with formal V&V activities.
Coordinate analysis and completion for requested ECOs
Generate BOMs qualification reports and assist in creating FMEAs
Completes tasks or objectives with some direction or assistance from experienced engineers/technicians
Complete understanding and able to successfully move a project through design control quality and regulatory system processes.
Basic understanding of optimization for production reliability and cost.
Monitor and communicate development status with stake holders
Evaluate cost effective designs in selection of materials assembly and manufacturing methods conducting the appropriate investigation to recommend alternative solutions.
Support design goals within the mechanical engineering project team. Design goals may include cost size weight durability manufacturability and serviceability among others.
Computer literate and skilled with Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel.
All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of 15 years of experience of relevant experience
Nice to Have
Experience in Electromechanical and Motion Assembly of large capital equipment systems in a development environment
Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering
10 years of experience in industry product development
Working knowledge of Mechanical Technical Principles theories and concepts
Experience with design and use of X-Ray products.
Knowledge and interest in CNC machining for rapid prototyping.
Knowledge in manufacturing and machining processes as they apply to the design process.
Knowledge of experimentation methods and statistical techniques.
Familiarity with Solidworks
Familiarity with building cables soldering repairing PCBAs
Travel
Less than 10% annually
