POSITION SUMMARY:

The Title IX Coordinator leads and manages the institutions Title IX compliance program. This role navigates complex investigations institutional responsibilities and compliance related to discrimination harassment retaliation and other EEO related claims. This role also serves as the 504 Coordinator and supervises the Deputy Title IX Coordinator.

Essential Functions:

Receives and responds to reports relating to Title IX violations as well as claims relating to discrimination harassment and retaliation. Identifies the correct jurisdiction and takes appropriate action.

Conducts or coordinates impartial investigations including interviewing parties and witnesses gathering relevant evidence and maintaining accurate documentation.

Develops implements and maintains policies procedures and protocols related to compliance and complaint resolution.

Coordinates supportive measures for complainants and respondents including academic accommodations housing adjustments no-contact orders etc.

Provides training education and awareness programs to students faculty and staff on Title IX rights responsibilities and resources.

Monitors trends identify systemic issues and recommend improvements to promote a safe and respectful campus environment.

Maintains current knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations guidance and best practices.

Collaborates across the institution with Academic Affairs Student Affairs Campus Safety Legal Counsel and faculty representatives as appropriate.

Prepares and maintains data reports and records for compliance.

Supervises the work of the Deputy Title IX Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (an equivalent amount of training education and experience will be considered.)

Bachelors degree in education law human resources social work public administration or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in compliance investigations student conduct or civil rights enforcement.

Strong knowledge of Title IX and other federal and state laws/regulations.

Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and objectivity.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information effectively.

Advanced critical thinking analytical and evaluative skills with the ability to summarize and synthesize information objectively.

Expertise in providing consultative guidance and serving as a trusted advisor to stakeholders at all levels.
