Principal Engineer - Geotechnical - Pivotal leadership position

What you will be doing.
- High-impact leadership role alongside the Regional Manager
- Diverse international project portfolio across West Africa Asia South America and Australia
- Opportunity to guide a high-performing 20-person team plus remote site engineers
- Flexibility to focus on technical leadership client strategy and people management
- Open to international candidates sponsorship available
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Support
- Act as a key support to the Regional Manager; lead in their absence
- Mentor and develop junior engineers
- Oversee team resourcing workload and project delivery
- Provide guidance to remote construction teams
- Technical Oversight
- Lead or review design for tailings dams heap leach pads and geotechnical infrastructure
- Oversee investigations testing design and risk assessments
- Contribute to construction and closure planning
- Produce and review technical deliverables (reports specifications drawings performance reports)
- Attend inspections review meetings and workshops locally and internationally
- Client Engagement
- Maintain and grow relationships with both local and international clients
- Support proposal writing bids and technical presentations
- Represent the company at client meetings and industry events
Requirements
- Chartered Civil or Geotechnical Engineer (or eligible)
- Significant experience in tailings dams or mine infrastructure
- Strong technical grounding with leadership potential
- Open to international candidates with relevant experience who would be motivated to relocate to Australia where the company will help with visa sponsorship
