Job Description
This role is for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a long-term care facility. The CNA will provide direct patient care assist with activities of daily living and collaborate with the nursing team. Previous travel experience is required and the candidate must obtain an Alaska CNA license within 72 hours of contract signing if they do not already possess one. The position offers a variable 4x12 or 3x12 hour shift schedule with guaranteed hours and a provided vehicle for local transportation.
- Obtain and record vital signs weights and other patient data.
- Collect and process specimens (urine stool sputum).
- Assist with feeding and meal delivery.
- Perform basic nursing procedures as delegated by a registered nurse (e.g. incentive spirometry pulse oximetry blood sugar checks).
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Communicate patient status and report changes to licensed professionals.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phones and documenting patient care.
- Assist in emergency situations.
- Float within the facility to meet staffing needs as required.
- One year of experience in long-term care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Valid drivers license and proof of insurance (for use of provided vehicle).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Must obtain an Alaska CNA license within 72 hours of contract signing if not already licensed in Alaska.
- Shifts are either day or night shifts (4x12 or 3x12 hour shifts) with occasional exceptions for urgent staffing needs. No night/day rotation is expected.
- On-call is not required.
- The facility will provide a vehicle for the duration of the assignment with restrictions on usage.
- Guaranteed 60 hours per two weeks with possibility of one 12-hour shift cancellation per two weeks.
- Time off is approved on an individual basis.
- The candidates permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
- Pending licenses are accepted but the application must be submitted within 72 hours of signing.
- Shifts are either day or night depending on facility needs.
- No mandatory rotation between day and night shifts.
- Guaranteed 60 hours per two weeks.
