Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in managing and supporting core accounting functions with an emphasis on manufacturing cost analysis. This position is responsible for accurate financial reporting maintaining inventory valuation analyzing production costs and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support decision-making budgeting and operational efficiency.
The role:
- Work closely with the Controller and Director of Finance to handle core accounting processes and support strategic financial planning.
- Monitor and record manufacturing-related costs including labor materials and overhead.
- Maintain accurate inventory valuation and perform periodic reconciliations to ensure inventory integrity.
- Prepare profitability analyses by product customer or business unit to support business strategy and pricing decisions.
- Support general ledger accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable and maintain proper coding and documentation in the ERP system.
- Prepare and post journal entries including one-time and recurring entries related to inventory standard costs and adjustments to other accounts.
- Participate in monthly quarterly and year-end closings including the preparation of required schedules and reconciliations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing timely and accurate cost and financial documentation.
- Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls related to inventory costing and financial accuracy.
- Work within the ERP system (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics BC 14) to manage accounting data perform reconciliations and generate reports.
- Participate in cross-functional projects focused on financial planning continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Perform other accounting duties and assignments as needed to support overall business objectives.

- Complete all assigned safety training in a timely manner.
- Stay current with all required training and ensure timely completion.
- Follow the Companys established processes procedures and policies ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and product quality guidelines.
- Maintain a collaborative team mindset while actively supporting Clients Food Safety culture.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment ensure your clothing is neat at all times and support colleagues in adhering to hygiene standards.
About you as our ideal candidate:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus but not required
- 5-8 years of progressive general accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of cost and inventory accounting principles
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on financial accuracy
- High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics BC SAP Oracle)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to present complex data clearly
- Self-motivated and collaborative able to work independently and across departments
