Job Description
Longbridge Financial (LBF) is adding to our team a Contract Database Administrator. This Contract role will play an integral part of our existing team.
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator (Contractor) to support the administration monitoring and optimization of our SQL Server and Azure-based database systems. This contractor will work closely with the Data Warehouse Architect / Manager to ensure availability performance and security of all data environments.
Job responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Administer monitor and maintain SQL Server databases across on-prem and Azure environments.
- Implement and manage Azure SQL Database Azure Managed Instances and SQL Server on virtual machines.
- Perform regular database maintenance backups and restore operations.
- Monitor performance and tune SQL queries indexes and database configurations.
- Set up and manage high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions (e.g. Always On failover groups).
- Collaborate with data engineers and developers to support database design deployment and optimization.
- Ensure database security and compliance with corporate and regulatory policies.
- Automate routine database administration tasks using PowerShell or T-SQL scripts.
- Support deployments and troubleshoot production issues in coordination with the DW team.
- Document procedures standards and configuration changes for audit and team alignment.
Qualifications :
Required:
- 5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server 2016 or later including Enterprise Edition features.
- Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Azure Managed Instances and database-as-a-service offerings.
- Experience implementing and managing HA/DR solutions.
- Proficiency in performance tuning query optimization and database indexing.
- Proficiency in database security principles and role-based access control.
- Strong scripting skills using T-SQL and PowerShell.
Preferred / Nice to Have:
- Experience supporting data warehouse environments or large-scale ETL workloads.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or Synapse Analytics.
- Understanding of compliance frameworks like SOX or FFIEC.
- Prior experience working as a contractor or consultant in financial services.
Soft Skills

- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
