This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a diverse case mix, including acute and chronic disease management, with a strong focus on Aboriginal health. You ll gain exposure to conditions rarely seen elsewhere in Australia from infectious diseases to advanced chronic kidney disease in a setting that blends high clinical standards with unique cultural experiences.
The Renal Service cares for over 400 dialysis patients, transplant recipients, and a growing number of people living with chronic kidney disease. Facilities include:
  • A hospital renal ward and in-centre haemodialysis
  • Three large satellite haemodialysis facilities
  • Remote dialysis units (nurse-supported and self-care)
  • Interventional nephrology activities, including endovascular skills
  • Outpatient clinics and regional outreach
Nationally recognised for developing innovative service models in chronic and end-stage kidney disease care.

About the Hospital
  • 189-bed acute hospital servicing the Red Centre, the only acute secondary care facility for 1,500 km in any direction
  • More than 60 of admissions are Aboriginal patients, often from remote communities
  • Accredited with the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards
  • Strong links with external research organisations
What We re Looking For
Essential:
  • Current AHPRA registration (or eligibility)
  • Enrolled in RACP Advanced Training in Nephrology (or dual Nephrology / General Medicine)
  • Strong clinical skills in patient assessment and management
  • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and in cross-cultural settings
  • Interest in improving Aboriginal health outcomes
  • Commitment to ongoing education, teaching, research, and quality assurance
