Role Summary ///
EUSMS is seeking a mission-driven self-taught and tech-savvy volunteer to serve as an IT Developer. This role focuses on improving our IT infrastructure through lightweight effective solutions. Youll work hands-on to optimize Odoo for our nonprofits evolving needs manage M365 user provisioning and roles and take stewardship of our internal software register hosted on SharePoint.
This is a high-autonomy opportunity designed for someone who enjoys learning by doingespecially via YouTube tutorials ChatGPT and online documentation. Youll be expected to roll up your sleeves experiment and implement improvements that allow our cross-border teams to function more securely and efficiently. Whether youre configuring Odoo workflows managing access rights or ensuring our IT documentation doesnt collect dust your contributions will have immediate impact.
How This Role Works:
You are the person who makes our IT tools work for us not the other way around. You identify whats broken where gaps exist in permissions or processes and improve the everyday digital experience of our staff. Youll be tasked with documenting tools logins and admin rights with the mindset: if someone left tomorrow could we still function Your primary partners will be the CFO Office and East Africa operations teams but your scope will span the entire organization. If youre unsure how something works your first instinct is to research test and implementwithout waiting for hand-holding.
Core Responsibilities:
Modify and configure EUSMSs instance of Odoo to improve internal workflows (e.g. approval chains expense claims user rights)
Set up modify and manage Microsoft 365 user accounts roles and licensing across teams
Maintain a live software register in SharePoint tracking what tools we use who has access who is super admin and expiration dates/licenses
Identify and resolve IT bottlenecks in collaboration with the CFO Office
Take initiative to build light automations optimize SOPs and reduce unnecessary manual IT work
Must-Have Skills:
A self-taught learning mindsetcomfortable using YouTube ChatGPT and forums to troubleshoot
Experience with or interest in Odoo (ERP); if no experience willingness to learn fast
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Teams Outlook SharePoint Admin Center)
Ability to structure messy processes into clear documentation
Comfort working asynchronously with short informal communication styles (e.g. WhatsApp voice/text)
