Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
A Material Handler handles moves and stores materials within our manufacturing and warehouse areas using a sit-down forklift. Main responsibilities include pulling raw material to support production inventory and moving stock and other materials to fulfill orders; loading and unloading different transport items; and recording inventory statuses.
REPORTING TO
Production Control Manager
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Helps to ensure orderly production by pulling materials from inventory and delivering to operators listed on production orders.
- Assists with production materials (tooling) and supplies where needed.
- Stages loads and unloads vendor trucks for raw material and work-in-process.
- Contributes to the orderly operation and cleanliness of stock and/or materials storage area.
- Helps maintain inventory by identifying labeling and keeping materials and supplies in stock recording location of inventory and reporting shortages.
- Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
- Documents and records materials tags.
- Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supply codes lot numbers and quantities.
- Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
- Operates forklifts pallet jacks and other machinery to move items or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks ships and loading docks.
- Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations.

- Ability to read and analyze Information
- Adept at handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines
- Excellent time management and process improvement mindset
- Knowledge of inventory control
- Data entry skills
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid drivers license and safe driving record
- Previous stock or inventory experience a plus
- Previous experience operating a forklift or pallet jack a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Warehouse environment where temperature ranges based on seasonal weather
- Regularly required to use hands to finger handle or feel pull and push with hands and arms reach overhead and talk or hear
- Frequently required to stand walk bend stoop climb or balance
- Occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally required to sit
- Exposed to shop elements such as noise dust odors fumes etc.
