KOSU seeks a multimedia journalist to work as an Indigenous Affairs Reporter. The ideal candidate will have an established portfolio of reporting on Indigenous issues or another beat that demonstrates an ability to tell nuanced and engaging stories. Public radio experience is a plus but is not required. The person will be an accomplished reporter who is eager to build community around Indigenous reporting including engagement addition the candidate should have experience building trusting relationships in news deserts and/or with populations of people who may have previous negative experience with traditional media.
Two years experience as a news producer journalist and/or announcer. Successful experience using broadcast production and field recording equipment; Successful experience using contemporary audio editing software; Successful experience with diverse populations; Successful experience reporting in the field; Experience using social media and digital tools to as journalism tools; Experience doing FOIAs and building journalism sources; Experience in managing complex projects with the ability to meet a deadline.
A valid drivers license
