Serves as the first point of contact for students and employees with benefits-related questions or concerns by providing exceptional customer service answering inquiries processing requests and directing individuals to the appropriate specialist or vendor when needed. Develops an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the OSU A&M benefit and retirement plans as well as the OSU student health plan in order to administer plans in accordance with plan documents policies and/or federal and state regulations; i.e. determine eligibility determine allowable changes to plan elections and adhere to various federally mandated regulations and limits. Assists employees in resolving benefit issues utilizing direct contact with various departments payroll technical teams and vendors. Identifies potential system-wide benefit issues and proactively escalates as necessary to resolve further misapplication or miscommunication of OSU benefit plans. Presents benefit and retirement information at New Hire Orientation annual enrollment benefit meetings and other benefits-related events. Must adhere to confidentiality practices established and regulated through HIPAA. Participates in a rotational set of duties; i.e. health default departmental inbox LTD purge. Must become a Notary and will be required to notarize documents as necessary.
Two years experience in customer service. Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience.
