Location: Framingham MA Category: Staff Posted On: Tue Jul 29 2025 Job Description:GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:The Centers for Early Childhood Education Lead Preschool Teacher-EEC Certification is responsible for but not limited to the following duties:Design plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum integrated across the content areas to meet the needs of all children in a literacy-enriched inclusive culturally and linguistically responsive learning environmentCollaborate with co-teachers with planning and implementation of curriculumCreate and maintain a positive enriched classroom environment to promote the learning and development of all childrenFacilitate lessons and activities encouraging self-express and understanding of concepts through child-centered hands-on experiencesPromote social-emotional learning and growth in all developmental domainsUse selected assessment and screening tools to measure and illustrate childrens development and growth and share findings with parentsEstablish and maintain communication with familiesSUPERVISION RECEIVED:Director of the Centers for Early Childhood Education andAssistant Director in the Child Development Lab or Assistant Director in the Early Childhood CenterSUPERVISION EXERCISED:Child and Family Studies majors and students in related majors and FSU student employeesEXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The duties of the Centers for Early Childhood Education (CECE) Lead Preschool Teacher- MA Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Certification include but are not limited to the following:Plan write and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum based on teacher observations knowledge of child development individualized goals and learning for the children and research-based best practices for early childhood educationCo-teach with co-teacher(s) and other CECE staffCollaborate with co-teacher(s) and other CECE staff to set-up and arrange the classroom with suitable and appropriate materials and supplies to meet the needs of the curriculum and abilities and interests of all childTeam up with other CECE staff to establish and maintain parent communication with weekly newsletters emails call-in hour(s) and other means as appropriateComplete developmental screenings assessments using selected tools and anecdotal notes to measure and illustrate the childrens growth and development in all developmental areasShare observational screening and/or assessment information for the preparation of communication with parents at parent-teacher conferences at least two times per year or more often if necessary and with the CECE directorAssist early childhood education pre-practicum/field study students with assignments and supervise interns and work study students to develop and model positive classroom environment management and instructional strategies and Requirements:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education or related fieldHold or working towards Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Lead Preschool Teacher CertificationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Preference given to persons fluent in Spanish and English or Portuguese and EnglishMassachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Teacher License in Early Childhood EducationMasters of Education in early childhood literacy and language or special educationADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certificatesUndergo a background record check according to EEC regulations and policiesAdditional Information:This is a full-time exempt benefits-eligible position in the Association of Professional Administrators (APA) bargaining unit with a union title of Staff include health dental retirement generous tuition remission and leave packagesThe Centers for Early Childhood Education are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. year-round. The regular work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday and daily work hours may vary depending on classroom assignment. Working a few evenings for various family events during the school year will be required. This is a grant funded position.
