Job Description

Job Title:Product Manager

Work Place Flexibility: Hybrid

Legal Entity:Entergy Services Inc.-ESI (OLD)

Job Summary/Purpose

The product manager is responsible for the development management and improvement of the utilitys products and services designed to grow the Utility business improve customer satisfaction and increase operational efficiencies. Specifically the product manager will be responsible for electrification products and services within the eTech and commercial and industrial electrification portfolio and others as the portfolio evolves and expands over time.

The product manager is responsible for aligning the utilitys offerings with customer needs developing business cases managing pricing and tariff structures overseeing the product lifecycle coordinating with stakeholders and driving innovation within the regulatory framework. The product manager plays a crucial role in balancing the interests of customers the utilitys business objectives and the regulatory requirements to deliver effective and compliant products and services.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Customer-Centric Product Development:

  • Gather and analyze customer feedback market trends and industry insights to develop and enhance products and services that meet the needs and preferences of the utilitys customers
  • Strategically coordinate the team to ensure understanding of requirements and to answer any questions; determining which work is done taking technical risk into account; exception handling and interventions
  • Develop a comprehensive business case that outlines the market opportunity customer demand and potential financial and operational benefits of the new offering
  • Facilitate the product value creation to meet milestones deliver on expectations of key stakeholders and support the delivery of the product in alignment with defined timelines
  • Responsible for creating prioritizing and executing on product backlog
  • Present decisions and provide solutions for conflicting product requirements to leadership for implementation
  • Define go-to-market strategy manage minimum viable product use iterations and timelines
  • Develop and manage the pricing and tariff structures for the utilitys products and services ensuring they are aligned with regulatory requirements and the utilitys overall business strategy.
  • Develop and manage product sales execution strategy with internal sales customer service teams and external partners
  • Ensuring that all products and services developed and offered by the utility comply with the relevant regulations laws and industry standards set by regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinating with various departments (e.g. marketing sales customer service customer care meter to cash IT operating companies regulatory and legal) to ensure a smooth product launch

  • Monitoring product performance and customer feedback during the initial deployment phase

Product Maintenance and Support:

  • Continuously monitor product performance and addressing any issues or customer concerns
  • Implementing necessary updates upgrades or modifications to improve customer satisfaction and product operations
  • Providing ongoing support and training to customers and internal teams.
  • Tracking and analyzing the performance of the product and providing regular reports to leadership and stakeholders
  • Continuously evaluating the products lifecycle and identifying the optimal time for retirement or replacement

Product Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the products operating budget. Forecast revenue and profitability for the product considering factors such as pricing customer demand and market trends
  • Generate regular financial reports such as profit and loss statements to track the products financial performance and collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends patterns and potential issues and using this information to inform decision-making
  • Evaluate the financial viability of potential product enhancements upgrades or new features
  • Prioritize and allocate resources such as budget and personnel to support the products strategic objectives and financial goals
  • Advocate for the necessary financial resources to ensure the products continued success and growth
  • Identify and assess financial risks associated with the product such as changes in market conditions regulatory requirements or customer behavior and implement strategies for risk mitigation

Sales and Stakeholder Management:

  • Meet with customers contractors vendors and other stakeholders including potentially generating leads and sales for products in the development stages prior to commercialization
  • Identify and engage all relevant stakeholders both internal and external who have an interest or influence in the product
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive stakeholder engagement plan to effectively communicate with and involve stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle facilitating discussions and negotiations to align their interests and resolve any conflicts
  • Continuously monitoring and managing the relationships with stakeholders addressing their concerns maintaining their support and buy-in and providing regular updates and reports on the products performance compliance and any issues or changes
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback into the products continuous improvement efforts to ensure the product remains compliant meets customer needs and supports the overall business strategy within the regulated environment

Agile Methodology:

  • Utilize agile methodology to iterate quickly and incorporating feedback on deliverables and outputs.
  • Participate in agile project management activities such as sprint planning standups and retrospectives to ensure the timely delivery of solutions

Cross Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with various departments to align on customer experience goals and initiatives.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to executive leadership to inform strategic decision-making.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelors Degree in technical or business-related field or equivalent work experience

Minimum experience required of the position

Product Manager : 5 years of experience with real business impact (related experience)

Minimum knowledge skills and abilities required of the position

Technical Skills:

Project management experience with ability to manage time and schedules to meet aggressive deadlines

Experience in business case development

Business domain expertise and/or IT expertise

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively both to internal and external stakeholders

Functional knowledge of Agile rules and practices and some experience with working in an Agile organization
