The Elections Division of the Jefferson County Clerk & Recorder department is looking for a Technical Support Technician to join the team! The ideal Technical Support Technician candidate will be a values-driven professional with a desire to set the bar for great election administration. He or she must be innovative and data-driven must be relentlessly detail oriented and must come to work every day thinking about how to defend the integrity of our elections and make the democratic process even more accessible to the people of Jefferson County. The candidate must also have the proven ability to move between diverse tasks with ease must thrive in a high-stress high-scrutiny environment and must have the ability to allocate tasks and lead a team in preparing for the election and troubleshooting technical issues.
SCHEDULE:
This position requires in-office work on our four-day work schedule (Monday-Thursday 7am-5:30pm). During active elections the schedule will adjust to a five-day workweek to ensure the needs of the business office are met.
Please note that this position will require work on Fridays evenings and weekends surrounding our elections including mandatory overtime.
COMPENSATION:
Hiring Range: $25-$31 USD Hourly
Compensation will be determined based on education experience and skills.
Additional compensation for Spanish bilingual skills is available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Technical Support Technician plays a critical role in supporting and maintaining the technology infrastructure of the Elections Division within the Jefferson County Clerk & Recorders Office. This position is responsible for planning administering and executing specialized technical and administrative tasks that ensure secure efficient and accurate election operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of hardware and software including PCs mobile devices peripherals specialized election systems and associated infrastructure.
Provide comprehensive technical support for all ballot processing operations including voting equipment voter registration system workstations camera systems and over 40 ballot drop box locations across the County.
Ensure compliance with strict election security protocols and maintain chain-of-custody procedures for all electronic voting systems and devices.
Assist in the operation and routine maintenance of the ballot envelope sorting machine camera systems and voting systems.
Manage technology inventory; recommend and coordinate the procurement of equipment and consumables in off-election periods.
Support election-related data entry including voter registration input and accuracy verification.
Specific Duties May Include:
Developing and implementing maintenance schedules for voting systems ballot counting equipment and peripherals.
Coordinating with vendors and third parties for repairs maintenance and procurement of technical equipment and supplies.
Maintaining an accurate inventory of voting-related equipment using asset tracking systems.
Operating testing and preparing voting equipment and technology for use in elections.
Collaborating with the Ballot Processing Manager Voter Services Manager and other team members to ensure seamless election operations.
Planning testing and verifying the security of election systems and data including enforcement of strict chain-of-custody and security protocols.
Administering voter registration data entry processes including data validation document verification and system issue resolution.
Creating and maintaining database reports exports and analytics tools; generating operational and quality control reports as needed.
Preparing and running test/demo elections for public outreach and voter education.
Ensuring ongoing compliance with election laws Secretary of State rules and County policies through appropriate training certification documentation and communication.
Participating in rulemaking and legislative review with the Secretary of State and the Colorado County Clerks Association.
Representing the Elections Division in internal and external meetings and providing accurate information to election judges staff and election watchers.
Collecting and analyzing election-related data to identify key metrics optimize processes and implement best practices.
Performing other administrative or technical tasks as assigned to support the success of the Elections Division.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: High School Diploma or GED
Education: One years related work experience
*Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Preferred knowledge skills and abilities:
Associates Degree preferred.
Experience with numbers data management and metrics.
Knowledge of voting ballot counting and/ or voter registration systems.
Demonstrated experience leading a team
Ability to work independently while collaborating and communicating with key stakeholders
Fast learner able to critically think through complex problems
Adaptive to a fast-paced demanding environment
Able to prioritize concurrent mission critical tasks to meet statutory deadlines
High attention to detail in an exceedingly scrutinized secured environment
Ability to communicate to an audience with varied familiarity with technology
Familiarity withNetworking such as routers switches TCP/IP USB and network Printers Android cellphones Windows 10 PC Imaging
