Job Description

The Newscast Director coordinates the efforts of all technical operators during newscast and other live and recorded productions.

  • Prepare and execute the operation of Ross Overdrive and robotic cameras systems for live newscast
  • Works with the news producers to deliver a clean and high energy newscast
  • Act as a liaison between the engineering and production departments.
  • Must be a problem solver and quick thinker using technical know-how and strong communication skills to resolve existing issues and to work around problems that arise during live broadcasts.
  • Possess strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others under intense pressure and/or long hours of breaking news.
  • Must be a strong self-starter team player and goal oriented.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Candidate must be willing and able to work any/all shifts including morning weekends & holidays.

Requirements & Skills:

  • High school diploma
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Minimum two years experience in news operations and production.
  • Proficiency with computers telephones and other office equipment
  • Proficiency with broadcast control equipment
