Job Description
The Newscast Director coordinates the efforts of all technical operators during newscast and other live and recorded productions.
- Prepare and execute the operation of Ross Overdrive and robotic cameras systems for live newscast
- Works with the news producers to deliver a clean and high energy newscast
- Act as a liaison between the engineering and production departments.
- Must be a problem solver and quick thinker using technical know-how and strong communication skills to resolve existing issues and to work around problems that arise during live broadcasts.
- Possess strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others under intense pressure and/or long hours of breaking news.
- Must be a strong self-starter team player and goal oriented.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Candidate must be willing and able to work any/all shifts including morning weekends & holidays.
Requirements & Skills:
- High school diploma
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Minimum two years experience in news operations and production.
- Proficiency with computers telephones and other office equipment
- Proficiency with broadcast control equipment
