POSITION TITLE: FACULTY ANTHROPOLOGY (CROSS OVER DISCIPLINES)POSITION SUMMARY
This is a Full-Time tenure position at a community college. Must be able to adapt to new and changing situations and demonstrate a positive attitude. Demonstrate respect for students; understand learning styles and apply understanding to institution-related activities; demonstrate integrity and promote diversity and open communications. Fifteen credit hours a semester constitute a normal load. Position is subject to all terms and provisions of the Joliet Junior College faculty contract. Course assignments may be late afternoon evening Saturday and at branch campuses or satellite centers.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
(15) contact hours per semester; thirty (30) contact hours per year of assigned introductory and advanced classes in Anthropology and/or crossover SBS discipline; five (5) office hours per week is required.
closely with other instructors and special programs and services within the college to determine placements curriculum and academic support.
in course development assessment accreditation and planning activities.
in appropriate departmental meetings and recruitment activities; serve on committees.
students with academic advising when necessary.

strong understanding and commitment to the community college mission.
at other campus sites as needed.
other contractual obligations as spelled out in the Joliet Junior College faculty contract.
a thorough knowledge of the subject matter necessary to teach the assigned course load and keep informed of developments in related areas.

a teaching style and utilize instructional technologies that will best meet student needs and accomplish the objectives of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Anthropology.
of an additional 18 graduate-level credit hours in one of the following disciplinesSociology Psychology Education or Historydemonstrating the flexibility to teach in two distinct yet related subject areas within the field.
years (2) experience teaching at the college level.
to teach a range of courses in Anthropology and cross over discipline.
with online hybrid and in-person instructional methods.
in course development assessment planning quality and accreditation processes and committee service.
with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds.
to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
in Sociology.
of an additional 18 graduate-level credit hours in another Social and Behavioral Science discipline demonstrating the versatility to teach in two distinct but related areas within the field.
and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
