Adjunct Faculty- Organic Chemistry
Bastyr University is looking for an organic chemistry instructor for our course BC3123 Organic Chemistry for Life Sciences Lecture/Lab for this fall. This course includes basic inorganic chemistry concepts (review) functional groups and the structure chemical and physical properties of: saturated hydrocarbons unsaturated hydrocarbons alcohols phenols thiols and ethers aldehydes and ketones carboxylic acids and their derivatives amines and amides carbohydrates lipids and proteins.
Our fall quarter starts on September 25th and ends on December 12th. Meeting times for lecture are Wednesdays from 10 AM to 11:50 AM and Thursdays from 8 AM to 9:50 AM. Lab will be with an online lab platform with scheduled time for student engagement on Fridays; this can be either the morning or afternoon. Lectures are face-to-face with room for hybrid content.
This is a 6-credit course that meets weekly for 11 weeks equaling 66 credit hours. Compensation range is $61.50 - $96.61 per credit hour dependent on experience.
Qualifications
Candidate must hold a Doctoral degree with experience teaching organic chemistry. Experience with the Canvas LMS desirable.
