Job Duties
The Science Museum of Virginia is seeking a dynamic event Special Events Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of our Events team and ensure flawless execution of private and public events at the Museum.
In this fast-paced immersive environment youll supervise staff manage budgets grow sales through creative rental packages and build strong client and vendor relationships. Youll play a key role in event planning and execution from inquiry to breakdown while maintaining high standards of safety service and guest experience. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for events exceptional leadership skills and a talent for strategic thinking.

Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have considerable knowledge of special event operations including event planning setup and strike client relations and sales coordination and execution. Possess strong leadership skills including demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams coaching and counseling staff and providing constructive feedback. Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams delegating effectively and maintaining a positive team-focused attitude with a servant leadership approach. Be able to manage multiple priorities under pressure while maintaining a high level of detail. Candidates must be skilled in the use of computers within a GSuite environment and/or have experience with automated software. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential. Must be able to work evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
Additional Considerations
Experience in customer service or high-level hospitality is highly desirable as is proficiency with event management or CRM software.
