Job Description

Job Title: Senior Electronics Engineer
On-site/ Remote/ Hybrid: Onsite
Location: Medicine Hat AB
Job Type: Permanent Full Time


Our Clientis seeking a Senior Embedded Electronics Engineer to lead the design development and validation of cutting-edge electronic systems for unmanned vehicle platforms. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of defense and aerospace technologies while mentoring the next generation of engineers.

Responsibilities :
  • Lead the design and development of embedded electronic systems including PCBs and power boards.
  • Define and manage system requirements and specifications.
  • Review and approve schematics drawings and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate across engineering and operations teams to meet system and project goals.
  • Support field testing and operational deployment.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to project planning and cost estimation.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards internal policies and QinetiQ values.

Requirements :
  • Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10 years of experience in embedded electronics design and debugging.
  • Membership in APEGA or eligibility under the Washington Accord.
  • Proficiency in tools like Altium and platforms such as PowerPC STM32 and x86.
  • Familiarity with avionics marine or military systems is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of electronic schematics and system design.
  • Excellent communication critical thinking and organizational skills.
  • Experience with configuration management and test equipment (e.g. JTAG oscilloscopes).
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Eligible for Canadian Class 2 Security Clearance.
  • This position involves work on the factory floor and participation in field testing requiring a high level of situational awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
