Job Description
On-site/ Remote/ Hybrid: Onsite
Location: Medicine Hat AB
Job Type: Permanent Full Time
Our Clientis seeking a Senior Embedded Electronics Engineer to lead the design development and validation of cutting-edge electronic systems for unmanned vehicle platforms. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of defense and aerospace technologies while mentoring the next generation of engineers.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the design and development of embedded electronic systems including PCBs and power boards.
- Define and manage system requirements and specifications.
- Review and approve schematics drawings and technical documentation.
- Collaborate across engineering and operations teams to meet system and project goals.
- Support field testing and operational deployment.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to project planning and cost estimation.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards internal policies and QinetiQ values.
Requirements :
- Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- 10 years of experience in embedded electronics design and debugging.
- Membership in APEGA or eligibility under the Washington Accord.
- Proficiency in tools like Altium and platforms such as PowerPC STM32 and x86.
- Familiarity with avionics marine or military systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of electronic schematics and system design.
- Excellent communication critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Experience with configuration management and test equipment (e.g. JTAG oscilloscopes).
- Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Eligible for Canadian Class 2 Security Clearance.
- This position involves work on the factory floor and participation in field testing requiring a high level of situational awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
