Position Overview:


Spirit Electronics is seeking a motivated demand generation specialist to join our Marketing team supporting military-aerospace electronics programs. This role offers hands-on training in market research lead qualifications and customer engagement within the defense electronics industry. The successful candidate will work closely with marketing team members under the guidance of the Senior Director of Marketing to develop industry expertise while supporting our sales pipeline and marketing initiatives. This position is designed as a career launching pad with clear progression opportunities in technical sales or business development.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor aerospace/defense industry news contract awards and market trends using professional research tools and databases
  • Serve as initial point of contact for new leads generated through marketing campaigns trade shows and other outreach efforts
  • Qualify prospects via phone and digital channels to gather key information and assess initial fit
  • Maintain accurate CRM records with lead details qualification status and interaction history
  • Support creation of technical summaries customer communications and sales materials under supervision
  • Assist with trade show follow-up activities and lead nurturing campaigns
  • Collaborate with marketing and technical sales teams on projects and campaigns
  • Research potential business opportunities from government RFPs and prime contractor announcements
  • Prepare summary reports and market intelligence briefings for sales and executive teams
  • Support marketing campaign execution and event coordination
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business development objectives
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in business Marketing Communications or related field. Electrical Engineering experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage professional contacts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint)
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in deadline-driven environments with multiple priorities
  • Willingness to learn complex technical concepts and industry-specific terminology
  • U.S. citizenship required (due to ITAR regulations and defense industry requirements)
  • Internship or co-op experience with a for-profit corporation

Desired Qualifications:

  • Internship or co-op experience in aerospace defense or semiconductor industries
  • Previous exposure to government contracting processes or defense programs
  • Experience with CRM systems or database management platforms
  • Understanding engineering concepts from coursework or practical experience
  • Familiarity with social media management tools and digital marketing platforms
  • Knowledge of market research methodologies and competitive analysis
  • Experience with technical writing or creating technical documentation
  • Proficiency with AI/LLM tools for research content creation and data analysis
  • Experience in oral/written presentations to technical or business audiences
  • Knowledge of aerospace/defense industry players and market dynamics
  • Previous experience in customer service sales support or client relations
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear summaries
  • Experience with project management principles and collaboration tools
