Sandblaster

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking experienced Sandblasters for multiple projects in the Portland OR area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surface preparation using sandblasting equipment ensuring high-quality finishes for industrial and manufacturing applications. This role requires attention to detail adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Shift: Day and Swing

Pay: $25-28/hr DOE

Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting equipment to clean prepare and finish surfaces of metal concrete or other materials.

• Set up and maintain blasting equipment ensuring proper function and safety compliance.

• Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality and adherence to project specifications.

• Follow safety guidelines including proper use of PPE (respirators gloves protective suits etc.).

• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain a clean work environment.

• Handle and dispose of abrasive materials in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.

• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any malfunctions to supervisors.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a sandblaster in industrial or manufacturing settings.

• Proficiency in operating various sandblasting equipment (e.g. pressure blasters vacuum blasters).

• Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and abrasive materials (e.g. silica glass beads steel grit).

• Strong understanding of safety protocols and OSHA regulations related to sandblasting.

• Physical stamina to stand for long periods lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or outdoor environments.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
