Job Description

Overview

The Health Information Management (HIM) Imaging Specialist performs a variety of functions including receiving paper documents from both the hospitals and physician practices processes paperwork and completes quality reviews according to procedure. Working under moderate supevision this role maintains the accuracy of reports to ensure all are received and processed.

Responsibilities


Assists in the timely processing of imaged documents by prepping scanning indexing and quality checking within 48 hours of discharge and/or receipt from both hospital and physician practice.
Helps manually index any unrecognized documents received via batch scanning within departmental standards.
Coordinates the verification receipt of documents and records and follows up on any missing documents and records.
Processes the workflow by working in the appropriate computer systems within the department.
Prepares daily productivity and provide to manager on a daily basis.
Responds to telephones and fax and follows appropriate guidelines.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:Preferred: 2 years office experience
