Job Description
Annual Compensation Range: $55000-$59500
Biocoatis committed to providing the best in developing manufacturing and applying coatings on medical devices. We are looking for a Research & Development Technician to support our companys efforts to improve patient care. To be successful in this role the associate will enjoy consistently testing coated devices in a laboratory analyzing results and reporting findings.
What will I be doing as a Research & Development Technician
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Select prepare and mix coating solutions according to formulas and specifications.
- Apply coatings on medical devices in accordance with customer requirements while adhering to standard operating procedures good laboratory practices and quality assurance guidelines.
- Perform analytical testing on coated devices.
- Provide technical input to find creative ways to apply coatings on challenging and unusual applications.
- Write coating procedures work instructions and technical reports regarding testing outcomes.
- Operate and maintain processing equipment including but not limited to coatings machine and friction tester.
- Provide cross-functional support and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Associates degree or B.S. in Chemistry Biochemistry or related scientific discipline with analytical laboratory experience required. Equivalent experience would include 1-year medical device specific coating or 2-3 years industrial experience in a laboratory.
- Ability to prioritize and efficiently complete tasks with consistency and accuracy often under pressure and/or short deadlines.
- Detail oriented highly organized capable of completing high quality work.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with co-workers as well as work independently.
- Communicate effectively orally and written with internal and external customers
- Must be able to endure physical demands of position including repetitive lifting 10 lbs. standing for long periods of time wearing required PPE while demonstrating safe work practices.
