The District is a government agency whose mission is to protect water resources minimize flood risks and ensure the publics water needs are met. We serve a population of nearly 6million people in west-central Florida as directed by state law.

Join our Operations Bureau

Support the Districts Structure Operations Section managing multiple tasks and priorities in fast-paced team-oriented environment. As part of the Structure Operations Section team the Structures Data Analyst will support the sections Water Control Structure Asset Management Program. This position will conduct data related tasks develop/improve processes and maintain quality data. Tasks include data entry ETL process QA/QC query and report creation with graphs and tables. This position is also responsible to remotely operate water control structures which included monitoring water levels and making decisions on when to operate the structures.This opportunity offers an ability to make an impact on the organization and provides flexibility and a true work-life balance. Starting Compensation:

Data Analyst 1 $43347.20 - $55231.65
Data Analyst 2 $46737.60 - $63603.00

The starting salary range is included for the Data Analystprofile which reflects the minimum to approximately 50% of the respective pay grade. The starting salary will be based on the education and experience of the successful candidate. The District conducts annual performance evaluations that may award applicable pay increases based on positive employee performance.

Essential Functions

  • Input equipment costs life cycles and preventative maintenance of structure components data standardizing the data entry and ensuring consistency across the section.
  • Assist with the implementation of a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) using the MVP Plant software and rolling this data into the Power BI software tool used for the risk-based capital improvement planning.
  • Annually update the condition ratings that result from the structure inspection program.
  • Identify data gathered and analyze data flow for developing efficiencies solutions or alternative methods to improve data quality and data reporting.
  • Identify data quality problems and recommend and implement solutions or improvements.
  • Design evaluate recommend or approve changes to data reports and performance indicators.
  • Manage quality analysis of data inputs and outputs and recommend corrective action.
  • Spend time in the field at the structures to understand the various components which are being managed how the structures operate their preventative maintenance needs and their purpose.
  • Remotely operate water control structures during and after business hours. This will include nights weekends and holidays. There are 84 structures that are monitored and operated during the watch shift. This includes monitoring water levels and making decisions on when to operate the structures.

Working Conditions

Employee works in a standard office environment as well as in the field. Occasional travel usually during the workday is required. Performs continuous repetitive tasks (to include keyboarding) with one or both hands. Occasionally lifts and carries objects up to 20 pounds. Occasionally requires bending and reaching above shoulder level. Occasionally climbs ladders. Field conditions may require work in the elements. Possible travel to other offices. Occasionally required to drive automotive vehicle for 2 hours or more at a accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Employeemaybe subject to call-in outside of regularly scheduled work hours or required to be on call including on nights weekends or holidays to respond to emergency management activities or other incidents requiring rapid response in support of District operations.

Required Credentials for Structures Data Analyst

Data Analyst 1

  • Bachelors degree (or higher) in computer science engineering or a related field
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted
  • Valid drivers license

Data Analyst 2

  • Bachelors degree (or higher) in computer science engineering or a related field
  • One (1) year related work experience (equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted)
  • Valid drivers license

The District will determine eligibility for employment solely from the information provided on a District employment application. Additional Details

This position is typically scheduled to work 40 hours per week Monday to Friday out of the Brooksville FL office however some remote work may be available. This position is eligible for compensatory time for hours worked over 40 hours in a week.

Travel Required

travel using District vehicle within Districts coverage area.
