Job Title: Outpatient Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA)

Site: Woodrow Wilson Keeble Memorial Health Care Center
Location: 100 Lake Traverse Drive Sisseton South Dakota 57262
Duration: 6 Months contract with the possibility of a 6 months extension
Shift Schedule:
- Weekdays (Mon Fri): Between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM
(Typically 8- to 10-hour shifts; often closing shift from 11:00 AM 8:00 PM) - Weekends (Sat Sun): 1:00 PM 5:00 PM (4-hour shifts)
- Expected Weekly Hours: 40 50 hours
License / Certifications:
- Active unrestricted license in at least one U.S. state or territory
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) if applicable
- DEA Certification (copy required)
- Board Certification or eligibility; or partial residency completion
Education:
Graduation from an accredited professional school (e.g. PA or NP program)
Documentation of all diplomas and certificates required
Minimum Qualification / Experience:
- At least 2 years of recent experience (within the last 36 months) in Family/General Medicine
- Experience in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Deliver high-quality primary and urgent care to patients of all ages
- See approx. 16 patients/day
- Perform examinations diagnosis treatment planning and prescribe medications
- Document all encounters orders and referrals within the EHR
- Participate in the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model
- Engage in patient education and disease prevention activities
- Collaborate with specialists for consults and continue treatment as required
- Participate in committee work (Quality Assurance Pharmacy & Therapeutics etc.)
- Attend facility orientation and comply with all medical bylaws and IHS standards
- Complete medical record documentation within 72 hours
- Respond to EHR notifications within 1 day
- Address documentation deficiencies within 1 day of notice
Compliance and Conduct:
- Adhere to federal state IHS and CMS regulations and standards
- Maintain professional appearance and behavior in alignment with cultural expectations
- Uphold privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA and federal regulations
- Comply with all training requirements and participate in Quality Improvement programs
- Avoid any conflict of interest; adhere to contract terms and codes of conduct
- Immediate removal applies for violations involving patient safety conduct or documentation neglect
Other Requirements:
- Attend scheduled orientation and administrative tasks
- Participate in training including HIPAA patient safety and abuse prevention
- Secure and return all government-issued items upon contract end
- Submit weekly timesheets and invoices using the Invoice Processing Platform (IPP)
