This position assists with the Fisheries Extension Outreach and Education Program in the New Orleans LDWF office. The incumbent helps plan fishing events and educational clinics throughout the state in both freshwater and marine environments. The applicant needs to be willing to work weekends early mornings and evenings. Highly desirable applicants will have an education or fisheries biology background and angling experience.
Although the main focus of this position is angler education there will be opportunities to get hands on experience with other education programs and projects throughout LDWF. This position is a great fit for anyone interested in working in conservation specifically if you are interested in outdoor education event coordination and volunteer management.

Job Duties:
Key duties include:
- Assist with and lead fishing workshops including bank fishing beginner courses and kayak and boat fishing.
- Assist with and lead aquatic education events at schools camps clinics and other events.
- Organizing equipment assembling fishing rods and repairing equipment.
- Coordinate volunteers for scheduled events.
- Post information about scheduled workshops online for participants and volunteers.
- Represent LDWF with professionalism in all public events and forums.
