Vice President of Advancement
Groves Learning Organization
Location: St. Louis Park MN (In person)
Reports to: President
Status: Full-time Exempt

Groves Learning Organization is a nonprofit educational organization that transforms livesthrough evidence-based literacy instruction diagnosis and teacher training. We serve studentsand families through our Groves Academy Groves Learning Center and Groves LiteracyPartnerships. Position Summary
The Vice President of Advancement (VP) is a key member of the Executive Leadership Teamand serves as the organizations chief fundraising and external engagement officer. The VP ofAdvancement is responsible for designing implementing and leading a comprehensivedevelopment and communications strategy that ensures the long-term sustainability and growthof GLOs mission.

This visionary personable leader oversees all philanthropic initiatives donor relations capitalcampaigns strategic communications marketing and community engagement efforts. The VPwill work closely with the President Board of Trustees and program leaders to build and nurturerelationships that drive philanthropic support and mission visibility.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Planning
  • Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team to shape and implement GLOsstrategic plan.
  • Develop and execute an integrated advancement strategy aligned with organizationalgoals including annual major and planned giving capital campaigns and institutionalpartnerships.
  • Build systems and structures to support a sustainable culture of philanthropy across theorganization.
Fundraising & Development
  • Lead all fundraising efforts to meet or exceed annual revenue targets.
  • Cultivate and steward major donors foundation representatives and corporate partners.
  • Oversee donor prospecting gift solicitation database management and stewardship activities.
  • Provide leadership to staff and volunteers engaged in fundraising efforts including theBoard of Trustees.
Marketing & Communications
  • Collaboratively guide the development and implementation of external communications strategies that elevate GLOs brand and increase engagement.
  • Ensure precision consistency and alignment of messaging across all platforms andaudiences including digital print media and event communications.
  • Collaborate with Groves Academy program leaders to highlight student and communityimpact through storytelling and reporting.
Team Management
  • Supervise the Advancement team including development communications and events staff.
  • Recruit retain and mentor a high-performing team with a focus on collaboration and accountability.
  • Build positive cross-departmental relationships to ensure advancement strategies support programmatic and organizational goals.
Board & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner with the President and Board members to cultivate solicit and stewardphilanthropic support.
  • Staff and support the Advancement or Development Committee of the Board.
  • Serve as an ambassador for GLO at community and donor events.
Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofitdevelopment with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Demonstrated success in major gifts fundraising and campaign strategy including experience leading marketing and communications initiatives. Excellent relationship-building public speaking and written communication skills. Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to execute complex initiatives. Experience managing staff consultants and budgets. Deep understanding of and commitment to equity diversity and inclusion. Bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred.
