Yolo County is recruiting to fill three (3) full-time regular positions in the class of Supervising Clinician at the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA). One (1) position will be assigned to the Forensic Behavioral Health Team one (1) position will be assigned to the Full-Service Partnership (FSP) and the last position will be with the Crisis Team. Details for each position are outlined below.
The Forensics Behavioral HealthSupervising Clinician will provide clinical and administrative oversight to a multidisciplinary team of ten (10) clinical and paraprofessional staff across the following programs:The Full-Service Partnership (FSP) is a high-intensity wrap-around service to the highest need HHSA consumers living in Yolo County. The Supervising Clinician will provide clinical and administrative oversight to a multidisciplinary team of eight (8) clinical and paraprofessional staff who serve individuals with serious mental illness co-occurring substance use disorders histories of significant trauma and those experiencing homelessness. Incumbents are expected to work independently provide support and guidance to clinical staff regarding client care exercise good judgement in using County resources meet expected deadlines and develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners.
The incumbent must be willing to work in community settings including permanent supportive housing locations homeless encampments jails and psychiatric hospitals. The incumbent will work collaboratively with community stakeholders including permanent supportive housing programs community-based providers of substance abuse treatment collaborative court partners and other resource agencies that support clients in stabilizing their lives. Responsibilities also include monitoring client progress collecting program data participating in case reviews and internal quality assurance processes and engaging with Health and Human Services Agency leadership. The incumbent will provide clinical supervision to staff acquiring hours towards professional licensure.Definition
Under direction supervises assigns reviews and participates in the work of staff responsible for providing individual group and family counseling therapy and referral services to psychologically disturbed or substance abusing clients; provides consultation information and education to community groups schools and agencies; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; and performs the more technical and complex tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility.
Distinguishing Characteristics
This class is the supervisory class in the Clinician in this class are expected to work under minimal management supervision and instruction and to exercise considerable independent judgment and initiative while supervising and coordinating the work of professional technical and other staff in providing individual group and family counseling alcohol and drug prevention and/or treatment also assume program responsibilities for one or more programs contracts and/or functions within the department.
The following duties are typical of those performed by the incumbent in this classification series; however other duties may also be required.
Education: Masters Degree from an accredited college/university in Social Work Counseling Psychology or Marriage and Family Counseling; AND
Knowledge of: Principles and practices of supervision discipline leadership mentoring and training; team dynamics and team building; a broad range of theories of alcohol and drug problems and addictions and psychological development disorders; social aspects of emotional disturbance and counseling techniques; uses and side effects of a range of psychiatric medications in order to refer to staff Psychiatrist; the scope and activities of community health agencies; methods and techniques of providing casework consultation to staff members; laws rules and regulations governing the operation of public social service agencies and the various specialized assistance programs.

Verification of Education
Acceptable forms of educational documentation are official or unofficial transcripts that list the students name institution name field of study and date the degree was awarded.
For recent graduateswho have not received proof of their degree yet a letter from the registrars office stating that all requirements for graduation have been met and listing the field of study will be sufficient proof of graduation.

All foreign transcripts or diplomas must be in English. If the institution does not provide these documents in English the applicant will need to provide a translation which has been done by a professional agency. The County of Yolo will accept education as equivalent to U.S. accreditation from Institutions that are listed as members of the International Association of Universities. You may check for your school by visiting the IAU web site ( who possess a degree or completed coursework that is not from an accredited college or university must submit one of the following:
1. A written statement from a U.S. accredited university or college that states that the applicant is qualified for entrance to a program of graduate studies for which a degree in a related field is required.
2. An evaluation of the applicants degree and coursework equivalency by a private organization that provides foreign credential evaluation services. The evaluation must include a comparison of comparable U.S. courses for content credit and grade.
Note: Foreign language documents must include a precise word-for-word English translation of all foreign language documents. It is the responsibility of each applicant to prove to the satisfaction of the County that the applicant meets the specific requirements listed on the job announcement for each specific examination. The following is a list of private organizations that provide foreign credential evaluation services. Fees range from $50 to $400 per document; processing times vary from 5-20 business days.
