Job Description

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW

The main function and purpose of this position is to provide support to the production team in terms of procurement quality document management production data management and employee payroll management. The incumbent acts as a liaison provides support and promotes ALCs quality and safety objectives.

1. Manages production data: Extracts production reports for the factory on a daily and monthly basis. Produces and analyzes daily production data to generate indicators that help management make decisions. Ensures the creation of production orders.

2. Controls inventory and the purchasing process: Maintains inventory of basic products. Acquires the raw materials necessary for production and complies with the appropriate corporate procedures. Makes purchase requisitions and issues manual requisitions as needed. Serves as the point of entry for all site requisitions in order to manage the ordering and receipt of parts and equipment (including projects and tools). Monitors orders and expenses.

3. Quality/safety: Understands and implements the procedures described in the relevant quality manual. Ensures that procedures and forms are up to date. Reports any safety issues to a member of the safety committee. Conducts daily monthly and annual checks of welding products equipment cylinders and items. Ensures understanding and monitoring of the quality process including the proper completion and archiving of forms.

4. Provides operational support: assists shipping/receiving with daily tasks during periods of increased workload and provides temporary cover during holidays. Ensures the adjustment of scrap and transfer inventories and supports the adjustment and control of product inventories in shipping and receiving through their overall view of site inventories.

5. Ensures the smooth running of human resources activities at the plant: Prepares biweekly payroll reports keeps vacation schedules up to date and forwards staff requests and forms to the human resources department.

6. Process improvement: Works with the team and other cross-functional teams to continuously improve work processes. Analyzes activities identifies causes of operational issues and proposes appropriate corrective measures.

Education and knowledge

  • Qualifications: Post-secondary

  • Training: training in Quality Systems (ISO)

  • Knowledge: Oracle Spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets Word/Google Docs)

Required Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in similar roles
