Summary


King County Metro the largest transit agency in the northwestern seeking a skilled and experiencedSocial Media Specialist (Communications Specialist III)to guide the agencys numerous social media accounts with more than 170K followers. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in social media marketing and communications including running paid advertising campaigns.

Serving a county with a population larger than 15 U.S. states Metro provides bus paratransit vanpool water taxi and on-demand services and operates the Seattle Streetcar Sound Transit Link light rail and Sound Transit Express bus service. The agencys national honors include Best Large Transit Agency in North America (American Public Transportation Association three timesmost recently in 2018) and Most Equitable Agency in Tackling Climate Change (Federal Transit Administration 2022).

Position Info: This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) Career Service Communications Specialist III Classification addition this selection process may be used to generate an eligibility pool for future career service vacancies that may occur in this classification within this workgroup. The eligibility list will be retained for 12 months from the date of posting and may be used at the discretion of the hiring authority.

Other Position Information

Work Location:This is a hybrid position. The main work site for this position is King Street Center 201 S Jackson St. Seattle WA 98104.

The work associated with this position is currently performed or conducted through a combination of teleworking onsite work and meetings. The role combines remote work from home with onsite reporting typically once per week. Reporting frequency may vary based on business needs.

Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

Work Schedule:The position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not overtime eligible. The typical workweek is 40 hours per week Monday Friday.
