Description

Mission: Seton Home works to break the cycle of abuse and poverty by providing a caring home education and support services necessary to transform the lives of pregnant and parenting teen mothers and their children.

Summary:

The Clinician will be responsible for individual family and group therapy. The Clinician will conduct assessments and is responsible for the development and implementation of therapeutic treatment plans. The Clinician will offer recommendations for clients permanency planning. The Clinician is directly supervised by the Program Director or designee and be on-call for clients and staff. Maintains necessary client records provides liaison with referral sources and providers. The Clinician will assist in discharge planning and other duties as assigned. The Clinician will follow all Seton Home policies regarding reporting abuse and neglect.

Position Responsibilities:

  • *Conduct intake interviews and assess client mental health;
  • *Prepare goal-oriented treatment plans diagnostic assessments service plans safety plans POS clinical notes and progress reports;
  • *Facilitate client groups on specific issues;
  • Provide case consultations and/or crisis interventions;
  • *Maintain therapeutic services within Seton Home and funding source guidelines;
  • *Conduct counseling sessions with clients;
  • Assume ON CALL duties after regular business hours including nights and weekends and holidays;
  • Conduct and coordinate client assessments and recommendations for client permanency plan;
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of client and program operations;
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards as prescribed by Seton Home Program and the professional code of ethics;
  • Role model a professional demeanor at all times;
  • Comply with the agency and program policy and procedure manual;
  • Comply with all Licensing standards as well as funding source guidelines Office of Refugee Resettlement;
  • Obtaining professional certificates;
  • Attend and participate in all required professional training workshops and or continuing education;
  • Maintain communication with case managers on a consistent basis;
  • Develop and implement client tracking and status reports for monthly review/audit of clinical department;
  • Attend weekly treatment meetings to maintain current information and support;
  • Implement services using trauma informed care (TBRI);
  • Assist with group and trainings;
  • Documentation on UC Portal and Extended Reach;
  • Assist with ratio as necessary;
  • Must be sensitive to the service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self others.
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information services rendered to clients donors names and gifts internal and external investigations or results of any investigations and financial information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory.
  • Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.
  • As a Seton Home employee attendance and successful completion of a 10-day New Employee Orientation is mandated for the position. The inability to meet this requirement will conclude employment with the Agency.
  • Other duties as assigned by Program Director or Vice President.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education
    • Masters or doctorate degree from an accredited program university or college;
    • or Masters degree in psychology sociology or other relevant behavioral science in which direct clinical experience is a program requirement;
  • Experience
    • Preferred 2 years experience of progressive employment experience within a social service or child-care agency;
    • Minimum experience within a social service or child-care agency;
  • License and Credentials

o Must be licensed;

  • Reliable transportation;
  • Valid driver license;
  • Valid vehicle insurance;
  • Submit to a state and federal background check Child abuse and neglect registry check and Tuberculosis screening;
  • Be physically mentally and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities

Able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with unaccompanied children;

  • Varicella: two doses of varicella vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR born in the United States before 1980 with a reported history of chickenpox (verified by an adult present at the time of illness) OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from healthcare provider verifying previous infection.
  • MMR: two doses of MMR vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases
  • DTaP or TDap: Complete primary vaccination series. If primary vaccination series completed in childhood one TDaP dose in adulthood.
  • Influenza: one dose annually during flu season.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of TDFPS Minimum Standards and Office of Refugee Resettlement- Division of Unaccompanied Childrens Services National Care Standards;
  • Possess therapeutic sensitivity to the service population cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
  • Experience with computer software and MS Office (i.e. MS Word Excel Outlook and OneDrive);
  • Must be detail oriented organized self-motivated work well independently and on a team;
  • Must have good written and verbal skills;
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills;
  • *Bilingual: Fluent in English/Spanish with regards to reading writing speaking and comprehension of the spoken language.

Travel Requirements:

Travel requirements for the position includes 10% local and 10% overnight.
