US Farathane is hiring for an Advanced Quality Engineer to support our Corporate Tech Center operations this role will sit on-site in Auburn Hills. The Advanced Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring robust Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) compliance. Supporting launch activities at manufacturing locations and providing quality leadership during pre-production builds at assembly equipment integrators and suppliers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Responsible for executing APQP with the cross functional program team and customer in pre-production or new program.
- Responsible for All ECNs in Launch phase or pre-production
- Actively participate in the Advanced Quality Planning process and ensure all quality requirements are properly adhered to during each phase of PPAP
- Maintain internal and customer-based tracking systems with required documentation on-time (Customer Portals)
- Participate in the development of the Process Flow/ PFMEA/ Control Plan and review of special/critical characteristics including customer unique documents.
- Review updates to customer drawings manuals engineering standards/ specifications and customer specific requirements and ensure controls are in place to monitor on going compliance issues.
- Support problem solving activities and ensure timely feedback to the customer on product launch concerns from primary and subsequent plants.
- Develop the Measurement System Analysis plan for the programs assigned.
- Complete and submit PPAP documentation for initial approval and engineering changes in the launch phase.
- Track completion progress of PPAP documentation and ensure all due dates are met.
- Ensure PSW or other customer specific document is signed off by the customer prior to start of production.
- Monitor status of temporary interim customer authorization following through until full approval is achieved.
- Ensure capability studies and Gauge R&R studies are properly performed and documented for new programs significant characteristics to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Responsible to submit IMDS to the customer for the programs assigned.
- Support and attend customers meetings builds customer process review/ audits and provide quality support when needed.
- Communication of Quality Requirements with the customer and to ensure all USF teammates understand.
- Become a subject matter expert with customer specific Supplier Quality Manuals.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customer Engineering and SQE Customer Representatives.
- Strong ability to teach and coach teammates on managing the process as defined in our QMS.
- Positive attitude and strong cross functional teammate
Qualifications: - Min. 2-3 years of working experience on quality related activities in automotive environment
