This role is based at our modern Melbourne Head Office featuring a balcony BBQ area collaborative and quiet spaces and an abundance of natural light.
About the role
You will support the Group Finance and Payroll team to ensure that all financial obligations are met regarding accounting standards company policy and external compliance.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Preparing and posting any payroll related transactions into the ledger including pay runs accruals and provisions.
Preparing and posting subcontractor oncost transactions and employee related costs to jobs based on timesheet information.
Reviewing results to identify and correct mispostings.
Preparing all payroll-related balance sheet reconciliations including payment clearing accounts leave provisions and on-cost pre-payments/accruals.
Investigating and correcting unknown balances appearing in the balance sheet.
Identifying and highlighting risks and issues that appear on the balance sheet.
Preparing payroll related reports for internal stakeholders and responding to any queries from the BU finance teams.
Assisting the finance team with period end close activity.
Identifying process improvement opportunities and supporting their delivery.
Preparing and maintaining process or policy documentation.
Supporting with payroll or oncost audits of payroll data from the tax office or PWC.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with the ability to work across multiple internal stakeholder groups.
You will also have:
CPA/CA qualification is highly desirable.
Minimum of two years relevant finance experience.
Exposure to payroll processes and related tasks is highly desirable.
High proficiency in Microsoft excel.
