Summary
We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Payroll Specialist to oversee payroll operations for a workforce. This role is essential in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing adhering to all relevant regulations while maintaining confidentiality and precision. You will play a key role in managing payroll records verifying data and supporting audits to uphold compliance and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Process full-cycle payroll for over 400 employees ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
Maintain and update detailed payroll records including salaries deductions garnishments and benefits.
Verify and reconcile timekeeping data to ensure accurate payroll calculations.
Resolve payroll discrepancies by investigating and correcting errors promptly.
Prepare and analyze payroll reports to assist in financial planning and audits.
Collaborate with internal teams to support compliance with federal and state payroll regulations.
Assist with year-end reporting including tax filings and employee documentation.
Ensure confidentiality in handling sensitive employee data and payroll information.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll documentation and analysis.
Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing preferably for a large workforce.
Strong knowledge of payroll systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Familiarity with payroll taxes fringe benefits administration and year-end reporting.
Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry.
Ability to analyze payroll reports and resolve discrepancies effectively.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive information.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years payroll experience.
Experience working with union employees strongly preferred.
Experience working for a mechanical contractor preferred.
Experience with prevailing wages/certified payroll strongly preferred especially sites such as LCP tracker and DLLR.
Experience with OCIP/CCIP strongly preferred.
Multi-state payroll experience preferred.
Familiarity with labor laws and regulations affecting payroll practices is a plus.
Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize all work assignments.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing project requirements.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of diverse individuals.
