Job Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Teaching & Learning or designee this position will provide assessment and technology support to staff. This position will manage district wide student records including requests for student records.
Essential Job Functions:
This list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Depending upon individual assignment the employee may perform all or a combination of several of the following duties:
- Provide technical assistance and support for all computer users in the district for software hardware network and peripheral issues via telephone in person and remote control of computers.
- Respond to all clientele in a cordial and courteous manner.
- Attends regional and state meetings (e.g. CEDARS OSPI SKYWARD) for the purpose of receiving information and maintaining current knowledge regarding state and federal reporting requirements.
- Works directly with Washington School Information Processing Cooperative (WSIPC) and OSPI for collection verification and validation of critical data (CEDARS) as related to school funding based on student data extracted from the student information system.
- Assist the Technology Department in device management.
- Identifies issues related to the student information systems and software applications for the purpose of resolving user problems.
- Inputs and/or updates data (e.g. student records information) to ensure student records are accurate and align with district expectations.
- Instructs district and site staff on the use of student information systems (e.g. new applications upgrades updates etc.) for the purpose of ensuring proper and efficient use of system.
- Monitors data entry for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of information and instructing on proper methods of making corrections.
- Participates and/or facilitates in meetings and workshops for the purpose of communicating student information system capabilities and/or accommodating district goals.
- Maintain district student records in accordance with the Washington State Records Retention Schedule.
- Process and respond to requests for student records.
- Maintain staff and student accounts used to access multiple EVSD systems.
- Prepare and process various district documents including correspondence memos budgets and reports.
- Route mail distribute all in-district communications act as distribution center for various outside organizations.
- Compose standard letter memoranda or reports independently or with little instruction in an accurate manner.
- Provide technical and material support for district assessment operations.
- Provide technical assistance and support for school assessment coordinators and test administrators using assessment software hardware network and peripheral issues via telephone in person and remote control of computers.
- Maintain physical and electronic assessment files.
- Manage assessment calendars.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school district rules administrative regulations and board policies.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Requires the use of multiple communication systems such as electronic mail and computers.
- Inspect school or district facilities for the purpose of ensuring that the site is suitable for safe operations maintained in an attractive and clean condition and/or identifying necessary repairs due to vandalism equipment breakage weather conditions etc.
- The employee shall maintain a consistent presence at the assigned work site(s) and work the regular work hours specified by the contract.
- Professionally interact with colleagues members of the public and students.
- Comply with all district policies and all applicable laws.
- Perform special assignments and other duties as assigned or required by the supervisor.
Desired Skills:
- Accurately operate 10-key by touch and type 40 wpm.
- Experience with Skyward K-12 Administrative Software (student fiscal and HR) or other school administrative software preferred.
- Work experience with Windows and Macintosh operating systems in current and recent Microsoft Active Directory Enterprise environments desired.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and excellent filing skills.
- Ability to multi-task and answer multiple phone lines and work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Knowledge of proper English grammar spelling and usage in both oral and written communication.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written communication.
- Working knowledge of district-adopted software including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Ability to handle confidential matters and information in a professional manner.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent (documentation required at time of application)
- Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.
- Valid Washington State drivers license or evidence of mobility.
- Proof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later).
- I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act.
- Completion of all district-required trainings within thirty (30) calendar days from hire date.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This is an office job. The employee is confined to a work area; required to have precise control of fingers and hand movements; experiences constant interruptions and inflexible deadlines; must be able to work at a computer monitor for prolonged periods; and must be able to crouch crawl bend kneel and lift/move objects such as files boxes etc. The employee may be required to deal with distraught and/or angry persons and may be exposed to infectious diseases carried by children. The noise level in the work environment is acceptable to this particular environment and can vary depending upon daily activity but will remain within acceptable ranges.
Evaluation:
The Administrative Assistant- Technology Support shall be evaluated periodically by the Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning pursuant to the currently established district procedures and evaluation criteria. The process shall include an evaluation of the employees performance of the above essential job functions and skills.
