Job Description
PROGRAM DETAILS
SPE INTERN:
Our Emerging Talent Programs which includes Interns Trainees and Finance Rotational Associates offer unique opportunities for students recent graduates and emerging talent to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies TV shows and other great experiences. These seasonal paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that builds on your experience and develops your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks real-world experience and many educational and social networking opportunities.
This Fall Internship is from September through December 12th(start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 10-29 hours/week in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university interested in continuing their education through professional experience.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Casting team oversees all of the casting for scripted series on all Sony Pictures Television shows. We work with agents managers casting directors and network executives daily.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Trainee responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- The Casting Process: Observing and participating in the casting process.
- Researching actors for our shows creating lists for upcoming series
- Tracking new and up-and-coming actors.
- Assisting executives in tests table reads and studio sessions
- Anticipating office needs learning how to one day be an assistant
- Being a very important part of our very small department
- Executive scheduling data entry phone management
The trainee will gain experience/exposure to the following:
- How to cast a show
- Union rules and deal negotiations
- Studio Tests
- Table Reads
- Exposure to all other creative departments at Sony Television
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Passion and focus on casting
- Experience in basic Microsoft Office
- Interest in entertainment television and acting
- Web/tech savvy proficient in social media
- Good eye for talent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience at a casting office agency or other office environment
The anticipated base salary for this position is $19/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors including without limitation the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position years of relevant experience level of education attained certifications or other professional licenses held and if applicable the location of the position.Sony Pictures Entertainment is an equal opportunity employer.
