Primary Purpose:
To provide for the delivery of technical assistance and professional development in the design development implementation and evaluation of activities that address the unique needs of Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in the areas of Gifted & Talented education IMRA (Instructional Materials Review and Adoption) processes and serve as the Regional Testing Coordinator. Utilize an effective and efficient planning process based on pertinent student campus and district data sources for the purpose of assisting LEAs in instructional improvement and the meeting of LEA and ESC accountability requirements.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
- Bachelors degree required upon hire
- Masters degree preferred
- Texas teaching certification required
Skills
- Texas Teaching experience required
- Experience within Gifted & Talented preferred
- Bilingual Experience preferred

Working Conditions:

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provides technical assistance and professional development to support the identification instruction and evaluation of Gifted & Talented students. Organizes and provides GT student seminars for students in Region 16.
- Serves as the Regional Testing Coordinator by providing technical assistance and professional development to LEAs on state assessment policies and procedures ensuring proper implementation of testing programs compliance with state and federal requirements and accurate reporting of assessment data.
- Leads the IMRA process by recruiting and facilitating focus groups reviewing rubrics and instructional materials providing structured feedback to TEA and supporting campuses and districts in understanding and utilizing high-quality instructional materials.
- Sets modifies and meets short- and long-term professional goals based on self-assessment reflection peer and supervisor feedback contemporary research and analysis of student learning.
- Manages a state or federal grant if applicable and follows all guidelines and timelines outlined in the grant.
- Provides state-mandated trainings if applicable
- Creates ongoing collegial relationships with customers.
- Travels as a part of job responsibilities.
- Maintains a functioning cell phone and is accessible through this phone as deemed appropriate by the director. A functioning cell phone means that it is charged activated messages checked and mailbox emptied regularly.
- Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities.
- Performs duties that directly and/or indirectly impact student performance in Region 16.
- Maintains a professional level of confidentiality regarding all ESC matters.
- Supports the ESC Manifesto: mission goals and objectives of the ESC strategic plan.
- Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC safety program.
- Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies processes and procedures.
- Manages time calendar and job responsibilities to meet deadlines.
- Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by supervisor.
- Incorporates appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in technologies as outlined by supervisor.
