Job Description

SUMMARY:

Provides table service to restaurant patrons by taking orders for food and beverages delivering orders to the table and ensuring that patrons have a pleasant dining experience. Communicates orders and works with kitchen staff bartenders and baristas. Accurately charges items on the menu and receives customer payments.

REPORTS TO: Assistant General Manager

DIRECT REPORTS: None

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greets members and community (non-members) upon arrival and/or as they are seated at the table; ensures the table is clean and that utensils napkins and other needs have been provided
  • Distributes presents menus and provide daily specials
  • Answers questions regarding the menu
  • Assist members and community (non-member) in selection of menu items and make recommendations for complementary products
  • Sell menu specials or limited time offers
  • List ingredients or common allergens for guests from memory
  • ID members and community (non-member) wanting an alcoholic beverage to ensure legal compliance
  • Takes food and beverage orders and enters in POS system
  • Delivers food beverages condiments and other requested items to member and community (non-members)
  • Ensures that food is prepared correctly and to satisfaction; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen; act as a level of quality assurance in making and delivery of all food and beverage items
  • Encourage signups for membership programs to community (non-member)
  • Complete transactions with accuracy and track or credit card and/or cash payment receipts
  • Collects plates and clears the table as member and community (non-member) finish their meals
  • Reset tables so new member/community (non-member) can be seated
  • Keep their assigned section clean
  • Assist with light prep work to assist food preparers
  • Ensure service stations are stocked
  • Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments
  • Completes all assigned side work duties
  • Continuing education or training in food preparation food service skills and service procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

SKILLS ABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE:

  • Knowledge of POS systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage orders simultaneously and service requests in a fast-paced environment
  • Efficiently serves members and community (non-members)
  • Thorough understanding of safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices
  • Well-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately
  • Ability to operate point-of-sale systems with accuracy
  • Ability to read and follow instructions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative members and community (non-members)
  • Knowledge of Manifest operations
  • Knowledge and expertise offered Manifest services
  • Ability to embody service and anticipate member community and staff needs
  • Ability to meet and achieve goals established by management with little supervision
  • Ability to be a reasonable resource to members community and staff
  • Ability to exhibit positive behaviors to cultivate a positive work environment
  • Knowledge of Food and Beverage pairing

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • Must successfully complete restaurant’s training course
  • Must be at least legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • 1-2 year of fine dining experienced required

  • Frequently required to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Frequently required to talk or hear utilize visual acuity to operate bar functions
  • Noise level in work environment usually low to moderate
  • Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Continually required to climb balance bend stoop kneel or crawl
  • Must be able to lift balance and carry trays of food weighing up to 50 pounds.
