The Position: We are looking for a candidate who will be performing the role of a Radar Engineer Journeyman/Senior supporting PMA-262 the Persistent Maritime Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program Office specifically supporting efforts for Core Avionics/Airspace IPT within Mission Systems.

Salary: The estimated salary range for this position is $140000 $170000 annually based upon an individuals level of experience skillset and education. The range that is given is an estimate and may vary based on contractual constraints. At AM Pierce & Associates it is our goal to provide equitable compensation to all employees.

The Work Environment: On-Site.

The Description:

  • Perform engineering duties in architecting designing integrating and testing aircraft and weapons systems. Conduct basic and applied research to evaluate adaptability of computer software and hardware to aircraft and ground station design and manufacture.
  • Recommend improvements in testing equipment and techniques. Performs the role of System Architect. Coordinates technical input from NAVAIR subject matter experts to form technical recommendations to program engineering and program management.
  • Responsible for overseeing the efforts of less senior staff assigned to a specific job/project. Ensure project procedures and controls are followed manage manning and staffing project efforts and lead problem resolution efforts.
  • Lead the design integration and qualification of radar systems.
  • Oversee hardware lifecycle activities including requirements development component selection environmental testing and airworthiness certification to ensure compliance with military and FAA standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and issue resolution support during system integration flight test and sustainment phases working closely with vendors labs and platform integrators.
  • Coordinate across IPTs and external stakeholders to manage obsolescence implement hardware upgrades and support configuration control for U.S. and FMS Triton variants.

Education & Experience:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in related discipline.
    • Education substitutions not allowed.
  • Journeyman Level: At least three to ten (3-10) years of experience in the Systems Engineering supporting DoD aircraft systems DoD weapons systems DoD systems or DoD support systems consisting of the design development integration and system testing of computer hardware computer software and navigation sensor and communication subsystems.
  • Senior Level: At least ten (10) years of experience in the Systems Engineering supporting DoD aircraft systems DoD weapons systems DoD systems or DoD support systems consisting of the design development integration and system testing of computer hardware computer software and navigation sensor and communication subsystems.

Travel:

  • On some occasions the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work rare occasions travel may be required.
