Job Description

Position Summary:
The Construction Project Manager plays a critical role in overseeing and monitoring construction projects. This position ensures field compliance coordination with leadership and alignment with objectives to drive project success.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Project Oversight and Monitoring
  • Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits to monitor the progress of construction projects ensuring adherence to project plans timelines and specifications.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve field-level challenges such as delays material shortages or site conditions escalating issues when necessary.
  • Safety & Standards: Collaborate with on-site contractors to ensure compliance with safety protocols and construction standards.
Coordination with Leadership
  • Status Updates: Provide frequent progress reports to organization leaders highlighting field challenges progress and shifts in project timelines.
  • Collaboration: Work with leadership to adjust project plans based on real-time field conditions to meet disaster recovery goals.
  • Meetings: Attend regular coordination meetings to report on field activities and discuss next steps.
Project Status Tracking and Reporting
  • Tracking Progress: Maintain an overview of all active projects tracking milestones budget adherence and timelines.
  • Field Reports: Submit detailed reports documenting progress site conditions and any deviations from the original plan.
  • Timely Communication: Report issues that may impact project timelines and offer solutions to keep the project on track.
Vendor and Contractor Coordination
  • Liaison Role: Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services per project specifications.
  • Logistical Challenges: Resolve logistical issues or delays with vendors and contractors ensuring efficient use of resources in the field.
  • Resource Allocation: Ensure resources are effectively managed to avoid bottlenecks and maintain project momentum.
Field Compliance and Risk Management
  • Program Compliance: Ensure field activities comply with funding program requirements and local building codes.
  • Risk Identification: Identify and report potential risks such as delays or compliance issues to leadership for corrective actions.
  • Field Checks: Conduct regular field inspections to monitor quality and compliance documenting concerns for resolution.
Department Communication
  • Point of Contact: Serve as the primary liaison between field teams contractors and leadership.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address discrepancies between project plans and field execution ensuring alignment and transparency with all departments.
  • Transparent Reporting: Provide clear timely updates on project status and field conditions to ensure all departments are informed.
Qualifications:
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience in residential construction or disaster recovery projects
  • Familiarity with government-funded program requirements and local building codes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
