The Opportunity:
The Second Grade Extended Term Substitute will provide students with instruction in Spanish (60%) and English (40%) in a self-contained classroom. The successful candidate will work cooperatively with grade level cluster and whole-school teams of teachers including specialists in the areas of ESL SSL and Special Education. The successful candidate must plan and implement an academically and linguistically active curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and socially/culturally responsive to the needs of the dual language student population. They will have experience planning implementing and adapting ongoing curriculum which is based on the Massachusetts State Frameworks as well as the local Cambridge Learning Expectations for second grade. They will work collaboratively with parents and guardians to engage them in classroom activities and school-wide events. Other duties as assigned.
