Your role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to support key accounting functions including the month-end close journal entries account reconciliations and tax filings. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of accounting principles and play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
Here youll get to:
- Support the monthly and quarterly close process ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Perform cash and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reconciliations and support financial statement preparation.
- Complete and reconcile sales tax filings (e.g. GST/HST) accurately and on time.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and assist with account analysis.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors.
- Communicate with Finance leadership to identify risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with operations teams to optimize business outcomes.
- Contribute to the successful launch of a new accounting system by participating in testing training and user support.
- Support audits and respond to ad hoc financial reporting needs.
About you:
- CPA designation or in progress preferred.
- 35 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles (ASPE IFRS and/or US GAAP).
- Proficient in Excel and accounting software (SAP S/4HANA preferred).
- High level of accuracy attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
